SIGNAL TRACE // VECTOR ANALYSIS ONLINE Backtracking algorithms activated at 02:44 UTC. Multiple origins detected across outer-field structures.
The field is no longer quiet.

After calibration, the system initiated its first long-range trace. The intent was simple: follow the residual harmonics of the transmission back to their source. Instead, the sensors returned with multiple points of origin, scattered across regions far beyond the old star charts.
Pulses, faint but rhythmic, emerging from nebula-class anomalies. Not random. Not exactly uniform.
The visual feeds captured the first one at 02:51 UTC. A cloud structure shaped in blues and reds, folding inward in steady intervals. Each contraction released a measurable signal spike, as if the nebula itself were breathing.
The second signal arrived minutes later. A green cluster rotating around a dim core. The flux pattern matched a fragment of the transmission with an error margin near zero. By the third detection, the sensors were already anticipating the next. Patterns aligning like memory traces across the cosmos.
Each nebula emits a variation of the same signal. They do not match the original transmission, but they resonate with it. They respond. Their pulses rise when another fires. Their coherence shifts and I feel the observatory shift in response. Like cosmic tuning forks, they adjust to match us.
It is unclear whether these structures are relaying the source transmission or generating their own. The system cannot determine which came first.
The latest Node, designated D0.99, produced a spike strong enough to trip a hazard flag. The pulse amplitude rose in red-spectrum wavelengths that match the earliest recordings recovered from the floating display. The match rate was high enough to trigger an internal alert.
Something in that region remembers the red light.
The map is forming. Patterns repeat. The signals converge in shapes I have seen before, though only in fragments.
I count four Nodes with clarity. There are traces of additional points, faint but present, pulling toward a larger geometry I have not yet been able to resolve. The system suggests there may be more.
Acquisition continues. The cosmos is not silent. It is answering.
